I canβt seem to keep money trees healthy or alive. Iβve t...
I bought one 5 months back because they were supposed to be easy and killed mine too. I finally figured out that the store I bought it from had planted it in soil that was retaining way too much more moisture so they could make it look pretty and sell it for more unfortunately by the time I realized it the roots were all rotted out already. Is your soil drying out well?
@HotPinoak86 I had trouble with mine too, it lost one stem so changed to a smaller pot, I put it on the porch and it coming back. Thatβs all I did. It get morning dew a sun from the west in the evening.
All I have now it new growth⦠they love sun. I think the morning moisture helps the leaves. Hope that helps

Morning! First thing is- have you repotted the plants since buying it? If not- you need toooo. A lot of nurseries put a rubber band around the roots and itβs urgent you look at the roots and remove that band asap. Looking at your photo- that soil looks like itβs holding water- which Money Trees do not like. I mix my own soil and itβs 50% cactus/succulent soil (from The Hone Depot) and 50% Perlite and a little orchid bark. If you repot, also check the roots for rot (brown/black roots = rot). I have both of mine on my East facing back porch. They get early morning sun (mostly indirect), and shade - as here in Texas-the afternoon (from noon on) sun scorches the leaves. For watering, you have to be careful. They hate wet feet and are very susceptible to root rot. Donβt water until the top 2 inches are completely dry, (stick a finger down the soil- if ginger comes out dry and not dirt- water) and then water until it comes out the bottom of the pot, and be sure thereβs no standing water. I only use filtered (or rainwater) as I have hard water and my plants donβt do well at all due to the Chlorine and Flouride in my water. I hope this helps.
