FLF leaf discoloration
Got this FLF about 5 months ago. Eradicated a fungal fly infection early on with neem oil. The plant has shown no signs of growth at all even after being repotted 3 months ago. A bunch of leaves look like the one in the photo. I checked extensively for mites but canβt seem to find any. Is this leaf discoloration an issues? #FiddleLeafFig #HappyPlants

Hi Kevin. This looks like spider mites damage to me, specifically the stippling and dusty appearance. One thing you can do to check for spider mites is spray the plant w/ a mister, place it in front of a lamp, and closely examine with a magnifying glass. The tiny droplets of water will cling to any webs, and the light from the lamp makes them easier to see.
Do you have any insecticidal soap? Make sure you isolate the plant somewhere like a bathroom, spray the whole thing down really well with water, then spray it down with the insecticidal soap.

The mottled appearance is pretty consistent with spider mites but if you are certain that is not the case, then there are other sap sucking insects, perhaps thrips may be the culprit. They are tiny, you may need a magnifying glass. Inspect the underside of the leaf. Alternatively shake it over a white piece of paper and see if anything shows.
It is also possible that the interveinal chlorosis is caused by a nutrient deficiency. More data needed, I suppose.
