These tiny pests thrive in warm, dry indoor air and target thin, tender fronds. They drain nutrients from the leaves, causing the faded sheen, yellow speckling, and brown tips visible on your plant. Because palms are highly susceptible, you must isolate the plant immediately to protect your other greenery. Immediate Action Steps: Shower the Plant: Take the palm to the bathroom or outdoors. Use a lukewarm, steady spray of water to physically blast away the webbing, adult mites, and eggs. Wash both the tops and the undersides of the leaves thoroughly. Prune the Worst Fronds: Cut away leaves that are entirely brown, crispy, or heavily enveloped in thick webs. Safely discard them in a sealed plastic bag outside. Apply a Treatment: Spray the entire plant with an effective solution. Natural/Organic options: Mix 1 part isopropyl rubbing alcohol with 3 parts water and a few drops of mild dish or castile soap.
