What is wrong with this plant? It is so dry and doing not...

#CupressusMacrocarpa
1ft to light, indirect
5” pot
Last watered 1 month ago
hi there!! my first thought is that it needs a bigger pot. the roots might be cramped in the smaller pot not allowing your plant to thrive as much. always repot 2-4 inches a pot size!
the dryness could be caused by either low humidity or underwatering, but if it’s been in this pot for a while, it could be lacking nutrients. repotting and adding fresh soil might do the trick. i would check out what level of humidity and a watering schedule is best for your plant as well to see if that helps with the dryness!
@nikki820 i just caught that this pot does not have drainage - look for one that does! the water accumulation can suffocate the roots leading to root rot.
@nikki820 if it already had root rot can it be saved ? I tried to repot and the roots were stinky
@MentorChards85 it can definitely be saved - but it depends on how much is rotted. you’ll want to cut off the rotted roots with a clean blade/scissors and then rinse your clean roots before repotting. the bad smell is common with root rot!
