Hoya Curtissii propagation
Can anyone share with me methods to propagate my #Hoya? I really want to make my baby become fuller, but itβs been so long that Iβve had this plant and sheβs pretty stagnant, and Iβm a little scared of having her die off. Thatβs why I want to #propagate this #HoyaCurtisii so that if something happens, I have a few others leftπ
PS: I also noticed sheβs become a little paler. Anyone know why?

Thatβs actually a krohniana of some sort I think!
For propagating, moss or damp perlite. Moss can be tricky because the roots are so fine it becomes problematic to get off the roots, so perlite will probably be your friend. If you have a clear container with a lid even better. Take your cuttings, let them dry for a few hours and then just lay them on top of your damp perlite in your container and pop the lid on to keep the humidity.
As for how pale it is, do you fertilise it?

This isnβt curtisii, looks like krohiana super silver (donβt think Lacunosa because the stem is pretty thick).
The color is likely due to too much light or something going on with the overall health of the plant like roots getting sick.
Propagating hoyas is pretty easy, cut it then let is callus so the sap isnβt running out. Plant it in your medium of choice (Iβd recommend something more airy than this, looks a little dense.. if you have plants that are starting not healthy itβs good to start with pure perlite since itβs so lightweight) and try to place it such that the bottom of the node gets to feel some moisture from the substate, water it, then keep it in high humidity till it roots and starts growing. The hoya community loves little 3 oz cups or plastic shot glasses to propagate hoyas, which are super easy to put in a ziplock bag if you donβt have a prop box.

@Linx you can totally do that attached or already cut :) just needs to be keep in high humidity. May work best if you have some strawberry prop pins to hold it in place.
Some people with large hoyas on trellises will also use this technique when they loop the plant back around! Theyβll pin down a node at the bottom back into the soil. It will grow new roots and better support the plant.
