How much direct sunlight should my zz plant get in a day?

I think they're very resistant in general; they're often listed as one of the plants that do well in bathrooms bc they don't need a lot of light, at the same time I think a good amount of indirect light can't hurt.
I wouldn't recommend direct sunlight as this can be aggressive and not every plant likes it, so I'm not sure how sensitive ZZ leaves are, but we don't wanna risk scorching them while we can't go wrong with just some brightness.
So long story short, I think the best approach would be to place it where you had initially envisioned and see how it does. If it ever does seem unhappy, try replacing it, observe, if it's still in bad shape, come back to us.

Put it in an east facing window (if you have one). Morning light is always good for plants that require indirect light.
