Orchid rehab

#PhalaenopsisOrchid
I have this lil orchid who was beautiful and fully bloomed when I got her. Survived for a few weeks and then my mom put her in the windowsill to give her more sun not knowing she doesn’t like it😭😭
All of her flowers died and fell off but her leaves still look super healthy. Is there anything I can do to bring her back again or is it just a waiting game ?
3ft to light, indirect
2” pot with drainage
Last watered 4 days ago
I can't help with the orchid, however I feel your pain. I came home today and my husband had all my plants sitting in direct sunlight. Of course what I have is to have no direct sunlight. So sorry your orchid lost its blooms.
The leaves look good. If you haven’t already I would trim the flower stalk a node down from where the flower was. My orchids are about a foot from a window that gets some morning sun and they thrive there. They can handle some morning sun for a short period.
I also have a NOID phal like that / it hates light and tries to unalive if it’s within 6 feet of a grow light, but it will grow happy as a clam in a dark bathroom with barely any light.

I would wait it out for now and see if you get any new growth on the spikes after a few weeks or so of conditions it likes better. Your orchid may want to grow another leaf or two before blooming again; if you have gauzy curtains, they can sometimes be a good way to diffuse window light that would otherwise be too bright for your light-hating orchid.

If it hasn’t bloomed in 2-3 months, you can try to trigger another bloom cycle; these orchids bloom seasonally, so you generally need to simulate that for them for a few weeks (2-4) by giving them nighttime temps that are about 10 degrees cooler, underwatering, and reducing light. It can be hard to do this in the summer, so my I’m a fan of just sticking it in a bathroom and neglecting it because bathrooms are generally cold when not in use and they often have higher humidity levels due to showering and evaporation of water in the toilet and drains.
If the leaves and spike are still alive you’re all good, they rebloom after a few months to a year, cut one node off the tip of the spike and reduce feeding until she blooms again and water less now that there are no blooms wait till the roots are all silver
