Leaves are starting to brown on edges. Any ideas why?

Hi @LogicalOnion67.
As a Calathea, there might be a number of reasons.
Too much light (don’t like direct sun).
Too hot/cold.
Too wet/dry.
Inconsistent watering.
Drafts/heaters.
Bugs.
Compact soil.
Too much fertilizer.
Wrong water (doesn't like too alkaline water or minerals in water).
Too dry air (they like it humid).
Change in environment (they need time to acclimate).
Recent repot.
You looked at it wrong.

Tell us a little more about your situation and care-routine, we might be able to help you😊
Thx. I will move it and see it it helps. Using tap water, we have well and self watering.
It's a new plant, in a self watering pot.
Might have had it too close to the windows.
Thx for assist. The plant is doing g better. Moved it farther away from windows. Now has some new growth!
@Linnyd67 so happy to hear that😊

Well-water might be heavy on minerals, I have that myself, so I tend to use rainwater on my calatheas just in case as they can be sensitive πŸ™ˆ But it might work just fine. Just make sure to flush the soil now and then to prevent mineral-build-up in the soil 😊 Only watering form the bottom as you do in a self-watering pot also helpsπŸ‘
Thank you!
