For a two in diameter for the top and ~1 in for the botto...

#Sedum
0ft to light, direct
2” pot with drainage
Last watered 3 months ago
I would say a quarter cup every two weeks should be pretty safe, especially since it doesn’t have a drainage hole.οΏΌ
@SmoothPunanova Is the actual plant in a plastic pot ? And is the Terracotta pot just decor? If it’s in a plastic pot, which will not let the soil dry out sufficiently in two weeks because Plastic is a non-porous material. And the soil needs air circulation too dry out. Before watering you should check the soil for moisture preferably with a bamboo skewer if there’s soil on the skewer the soil is still too wet and the plant should be snoozed ! Sedums are Succulents and drought tolerant. It’s better to underwater water than to overwater. Do not water a succulent every two weeks without checking the soil first. The pot will need a drainage hole otherwise you are asking for root rot!
Ok yeah I will take out the plastic bit and test the soil before thanks for the advice
I've added a small drainage hole is there any else I should be worried about?
Ok that makes sense if I am to switch the dirt I would need to get past lots of roots that are currently surrounding the dirt from the grocery store. What would be the safest option?

As for getting peat off the roots, what I do is use a gentle spray of lukewarm water from my kitchen faucet or in the shower. If it’s really stuck on there I will alternate between that and letting it soak in a container of water. I put a 5 gal bucket to catch all the runoff and then dump it outside so I’m not putting soil down my drains πŸ˜„ You dont have to be neurotic about it, but I do try to get as much as possible off, because otherwise the peat will hold water around the root area, which is not what you want!
@DreamMachine thanks for the advice I replaced my soil with your advice I was wondering if you know why the leafs are turning yellow and soft I suspect I over watered it so now I'm letting it dry out. Do you have any advice?
Sorry here's the picture
