Maybe fertilize? Or change out the soil?
I just got a waffle plant 5 days ago in a 2” pot. It’s very temperamental. Twice I woke up to see it limp and lifeless. I gave it some water and it perked right up two hours later. I never saw a plant that looked dead make this kind of recovery before.
@RadiantGinseng thanks! I think the soil was too wet actually! It had a β€œself-watering” method that I think backfired and kept it too wet. Changed out the soil to see if I can revive it at all.
@JerseyRose I’ve previously had another one and know exactly what you mean. Unfortunately I think this one actually got over watered. The soil was holding a lot more water than I realized. I changed the soil out to dry it out and I’m going to see if that will liven it up and just check the soil the next time I bring it home from the store. οΏΌ
It will liven back up with less water. They don't like constantly wet soil.

They will also get dry crispy edges if the soil is staying to wet. That will be your first sign to back off the water.

I got mine for $1 on a clearance shelf that looked pretty bad. It now is one of my favorites and flowers constantly with little trumpet shaped flowers (they only last a day but they are cute).

Also want to suggest you don't use the self watering pot for any plant ever. They will only give you root rot down the line. No plant wants to be constantly wet. Use it for a pet (just edited this I meant pen!) πŸ˜‚ holder or something. ❀️

I am glad you figured it out great detective work!

@SuperbRaspfern Thank you! Good to know about the crispy leaves too because I had noticed that!!
