It is normal for you cactus to turn colour, as in it happens to a lot of people.
Stem segments morph from their natural vibrant green to shades of purple in response to stressful environmental conditions.
The four most likely reasons are: bright light, inappropriate moisture, nutrient deficiency, and extreme temperature fluctuations.
But i have seen people tress out succulents/caci to make the colour pop, so if you just make sure you aren't killing the cacti. And keep a closer watch from now on, it will be fine.
Unless you overwater the plant! Be careful with that.
