My Peace Lily has yellowing leaves with browning tips

Hi! noticed that my peace lily’s leaves are yellowing and the edges are browning. The flower also didn’t bloom and just rotted. Can you guys help point out what’s wrong? any tips?

- She’s not sitting in direct light
- I water her every 1-2 weeks depending on the condition of the soil whether it’s dry or not
- i also give it soil conditioner at the same time I water

Do I need to use ferrous sulfate? I was looking it up and it may be due to iron deficiency
@Ramyeoncito Welcome to the Greg community! There could be various reasons for that to happen. Brown leaf tips with a yellow halo on a peace lily are most commonly caused by fungal infection, but can also be due to improper watering, low humidity, or sunlight stress. The yellow halo often indicates a fungal infection, such as Septoria, which can lead to brown spots and leaf perforations. Other potential causes include over or under watering, which can damage roots and cause browning, or low humidity, which can dry out the leaf tips. Elaboration:
Fungal Infection:
A yellow halo around brown spots is a telltale sign of a fungal infection. These spots can vary in size and without prompt action, they can evolve into leaf perforations. High humidity and poor airflow can contribute to fungal growth.
Improper Watering:
Overwatering can lead to root rot, and underwatering can cause dry, brittle leaves. Both can result in brown tips and yellow halos.
Low Humidity:
Peace lilies thrive in high humidity environments, and dry air can cause brown leaf tips.
Sunlight Stress:
While peace lilies prefer indirect light, too much direct sunlight can burn their leaves, causing browning and yellowing.
Other Factors:
Nutrient deficiencies, particularly potassium, can also cause brown leaf tips. Issues with tap water, such as fluoride or minerals, can also contribute to browning. To address brown leaf tips:
Check for Fungal Infection: Look for yellow halos around the brown spots.
Address Watering Issues: Ensure the soil is moist but not soggy, and avoid leaving the plant in standing water.
Increase Humidity: Mist the plant, use a humidifier, or group it with other plants to raise humidity levels.
Protect from Direct Sunlight: Provide bright, indirect light.
Fertilize: Use a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer to prevent nutrient deficiencies.
Remove Affected Leaves: Cut off damaged leaves to prevent the spread of infection.
Sterilize Tools: Use a bleach solution to sterilize shears when pruning. Hope this helps, Happy Growing!!
