Help!
I bought a couple more succulents today and I noticed this little one. It was setting on the soil of the pickle plant I got. When I got home to repot the plant, I noticed it wasn't rooted and must have just got knocked into the pot. It seems to be forming a callous. At what point is it safe to nestle it in its own pot? #GoldenBarrelCactus

As long as it's completely calloused over, you can place it on top of some very gritty, very well-draining cactus soil mixed with lots of extra perlite or pumice. Make sure the layer of soil is very shallow so it doesn't end up rotting, which is much more likely to happen when cuttings don't yet have any roots. When there aren't any roots to absorb the water, it just sits on top of the damp soil. Do you have any rooting hormone? If so, dip it in some of that first.
@stephonicle I don't have any rooting hormone. The soil is have half succulent/ cactus soil and half perlite. It is very dry. I just placed the pup right on top. Its also a small terracotta pot with drainage.
