Black bug with shiny wings?

Hey fam! I was just doing my spray down of my plants. I like to obviously inspect things and noticed a small black bug with shiny wings run across the soil. It didn’t fly even though it had wings. Definitely a bit bigger than a fungus gnat. Are their other types of gnats. Wish I had a photo, but instead sprayed him down with my peppermint/tea tree soap, rubbing alcohol, and peroxide mixture. Are there other types of gnats that live in plants? I just got some plants from CA and I’m wondering if he came from them. I don’t see anything anywhere else or on my yellow sticky traps. 🤔🤔🤔

There are many kinds of gnats, but I think fungus gnats are really the ones we need to worry about. If you only saw the one, I shouldn’t think you need to worry. You might want to quarantine her just to be on the safe side. ❤️❤️❤️
@TruthfulApricot normally I’d never ask. It just struck me odd that it didn’t fly, had shiny wings, and was a bit bigger 🥹. It only ran over the soil trying to hide. I looked up some different bugs, but didn’t see anything similar. I’ll move her bc now I’m going to be obsessed 🤦‍♀️
😁 Hopefully that means there’s nothing to worry about. I really believe it’s okay. 🤞🤞🤞
@TruthfulApricot phew! I didn’t waste anytime spraying it 😂😂😂😂 that’s for sure! Thank you so much 💚
