The browning you’re seeing looks environmental, not pest-related. A few likely causes (and you may have more than one):

1. Low humidity (most common)
These begonias need high humidity (60–80%).

Signs
• Crispy or browning leaf edges
• Darkened patches near the veins
• Leaves curling or stiffening

Fix
• Place near a humidifier
• Use a humidity dome or cabinet
• Group plants together
• Avoid misting directly (can cause fungal spots)

2. Inconsistent watering
Begonias hate extremes.

Too dry
• Browning edges
• Leaf drop

Too wet
• Dark, mushy spots
• Leaf collapse near the base

Best practice
• Keep soil evenly moist, never soggy
• Let only the top ½–1 inch dry out
• Use a pot with excellent drainage

3. Tap water / salt buildup
Begonias are sensitive to minerals.

Fix
• Switch to distilled, rain, or filtered water
• Flush the soil monthly with clean water

4. Light stress
These want bright, indirect light only.

Too much light
• Leaf scorching
• Brown patches with yellow halos

Too little light
• Weak growth
• Dull coloration
