Spooky Mythology?

There are many cultures that tie the slaying of lovers or spirits to the origin of some of our favorite plants! If any of you recognize this story and wanna educate me, or have any stories from their family or culture that are similar, please share!

As it was told to me, the tapestry depicts the daughter of a tribe leader who loved a snake spirit. At night the tribe leader tricked the spirit and killed it, cutting off it's head. Distraught, the daughter buried the head and stayed by its side for years. Eventually the first palm grew from the head and she felt peace.

Also threw in a pic of my tallest boi dressed as the snake palm.

*Disclaimer: This tapestry was a gift that's exchanged many hands so I don't know if the story is accurate or where it's from. #greggetsspooky #storytimewithplants #halloweengreg #plantshelfie #plantmyth

Funny that I saw something about mythology on the day of my drama dress rehearsal; we are doing the Iliad! That’s a spooky story though! β™₯οΈπŸŽƒ
