Trimmed back due to aphids but the melons seem to be okay

@sc119 That vine looks like it’s been through a full-blown group project where two melons did all the work and the rest of the plant just barely showed up. But you did great trimming it back aphids are like the freeloaders of the garden world, and once you evict them, the plant needs time to regroup. The leaves may look like they gave up, but as long as the vine is still green and connected to the melons, they’re getting their nutrients like stubborn toddlers refusing to nap just enough to keep going. Make sure the soil stays slightly moist, especially while the fruit finishes ripening. Think wrung out sponge, not mud bath. Also, those bamboo stakes are helpful, but the plant’s probably putting all its leftover energy into ripening the fruit so don’t expect a foliage comeback just yet. You’re basically in the final stretch. Let the plant coast, monitor for any sneaky aphid encore, and enjoy those melons when they’re ready they’ve earned their spot on the table.
