..I want it to grow tall as possible and to keep braiding...
2ft to light, indirect
4β pot without drainage
Last watered 1 week ago
Hi Jerry, welcome to Greg. I had a beautiful money tree that was braided. I tried to keep the braid going, but in doing that- I restricted its growth and after a few months- it died. Braiding, I found out too late, is not inherently bad, but the risk of breaking stems and causing rot is there. If you do keep braiding- only do the new flexible green stems and use soft ties if necessary. Mr M is a beautiful money tree. Just curious- is it really in a pot with no drainage??
I just saw your other post about repottingβ¦but will reply here. Yes I say repot. Only go up to a 6 inch pot (any repot should only go up 1-2 inches) and be sure it has drainage! Very important. Use a chunky soil mixture. Money trees do not like to sit in water and are very susceptible to root rot. It will stress out for a few days but should bounce right back to is beautiful self.
