Sick council tree
#help #sickplant #counciltree My council tree is sick! Leaves have been falling off at the slightest touch, not every single leaf, but a lot. Adding some photos of one leaf that fell off recently (front and back) . To add a little more context, the soil is not wet or waterlogged, Iβm in chicago and thereβs a heatwave so all my blinds are partially shut. This guy is getting about half the light that heβs used to (weβre only about 24 hours in in a 3-4 day heatwave). #helpneeded

Hi Emily! So I had to look this plant up, and one of the first things it said is this is a βDrama Queenβ!! It also says any change, even the slightest, in their environment- will cause the leaves to drop. Hereβs what it saysβ¦..βSudden Moves: If you recently brought the tree home or moved it to a new spot in your house, it will often drop leaves as it acclimates. Drafts: Keep your tree away from drafty windows, air conditioning units, and heat vents, as sudden temperature fluctuations will shock it. Low Humidity: Native to the tropics, these trees require moderate to high humidity (50-70%). If the air is too dry, it can cause the leaves to dry out and fall.β
