No roots..??
Hello #greggang,
Need help with my Gasteria Okavango. I have had this plant for over a year. Bought it from IKEA.
The plant looks well, but roots(??) have all fallen off.
I wouldn't think this is normal. Any ideas on what's happening.
PS: Greg identifies this as Haworthia fasciata and I can't figure out how to change it to Gasteria Okavango. #plantsmakepeoplehappy #wednesdaysucc

I would inspect the bottom for the signs of a rot. If it looks nice and no rot there then I would dip it in cinnamon, to prevent rot. After that I would just stick it into dry succulent mix and wait. It should show some roots in about 2 weeks. You can check on roots every couple days. When you see roots there - just mist the top soil a little bit every day. Also, just place the pot into bright location BUT no direct sunlight.
@FocusedWoodruff Hello π and welcome to Greg, SpaceCat! I would like to bring in @vvvelo to answer this question. Iβm not good with succulents even tho I have some.
Thank you so much.. @vvvelo
I will try that and hope for the best..

@FocusedWoodruff I hope it helps! In general Haworthia does not need bright light. They tolerate low light and grow slow. They donβt like overwatering, because of their thick roots that absorb everything and then just rot if there is a lot of water.
@vvvelo Is there a lot of difference between taking care of Haworthia and Gasteria? It was labelled as Gasteria in the shop, which I think it is from the other images on the internet.
@FocusedWoodruff no, the care is the same.
