Is this root rot? #Diffenbachia
I’ve had this plant for over a year and honestly since I didn’t know what I was doing when I got it, it was a steep learning curve. I see it’s growing but it doesn’t look healthy. I’m not sure if you can see the brown spots, but the stalk & all the leaves have it. I’ve repotted it cut out bad roots, but something smells and I think it’s this one. Is there any saving it or should I just let it go.

@WonderWoman13 if you sniff the soil does it smell like a gross, farty, swamp? If so, that is definitely root rot bacteria, I believe pythium. You will have treat it if you want to save this plant. I can’t quite tell though, if it’s already moved up that stem, or not. If it hasn’t, you can trim off any mushy rotted roots with sterilized scissors or snips and soak what’s left of the root ball in a hydrogen peroxide solution. 1 part 3% hydrogen peroxide to 3-5 parts water.
If it’s already moved up the stem, then there is nothing you can do unless it hasn’t moved up too far yet, and you can try to chop and prop any remaining healthy leaves! Good luck my dear 🫶🏼🌿

@DreamMachine it definitely smells unpleasant. I see brown all the way at the top so I’m thinking it’s a goner. That’s what’s confusing, it grows no leaves but they come out looking unhealthy. Ugh. I tried! Thank you!
@WonderWoman13 😔 Sigh. Bummer. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! I hope you can get another one sometime 🩶 🌿
