5β pot with drainage
Last watered 7 months ago
@ResoluteWildyam Mexican Heather is basically that friend whoβs bubbly all summer, then vanishes the second life gets too intense (heatwaves, root stress, whatever). She can bounce back, but only if you check a few things first. Sun-burnt or thirsty?
Direct sun + 5 days without water? Sis probably felt like she was being slow-roasted in a toaster oven. If the soil feels dry more than an inch deep, sheβs not dead just parched. Root check 101
Gently wiggle her out of the pot and peek if the roots are white/tan and firm, sheβs alive! If theyβre black/squishy/melting into compost soupβ¦ we got a problem. To water or not to water?
Yes, but slowly. Give her a deep drink, let it drain out fully, and resist panic-watering every day. She doesnβt want a flood, just a solid hydration moment (like us after 3 iced coffees and no water all day). What now???Trim back any crispy twigs and dry leaves give her a haircut, not a full chop.
Shade her during the hottest hours for now if sheβs baking in full sun.Be patient she might need a few weeks to pull herself together. (Donβt we all?) Diana might look rough, but plants are stubborn little life hackers. Keep watering like she might forgive you and watch for any tiny signs of green. If she sprouts again you win.
