How to care for philodendron?
What kind of philodendron? There are sooo many.
Most are similar in the soil they like, and basic care.
My soil I use is:
50% peat moss
25% perlite
25% orchid bark
You want water retention with plenty of aeration.
I always allow mine to dry almost completely before watering.
Fertilize regularly
Plenty of light
If itβs a climber like a Heartleaf, Neon, Brazil etc. provide a moss pole it will give them something to attach to and then they will grow faster and get bigger leaves. They really love them. It has to be moss, coco coir, or even rough wood πͺ΅, you want it to be similar to tree bark since all of these are made to climb trees in nature to reach through the tree canopy.
You donβt need extra humidity or anything they adapt well to all home environments.
Iβm sharing some of mine I have about 15 varieties because I LOVE them so much! Anything that climbs is my favorite!

@SuperbRaspfern The first one is a philo?! Why does it look so much like an orchid π
@TastyCoralswirl just wanted to mention, while most philos wouldn't require extra humidity most wild-type velvety ones like verrucosum or melanochrysum, as well as particular variegated ones like Pink Princess benefit from >60% humidity

@Araceae It really does itβs called Philodendron martianum AKA βFat Boyβ, πdue to its fat stems. β€οΈ Another unique one that grows like crazy these I grew from seed are the Philodendron Hope.
@SuperbRaspfern oh that's cute! If i'm not wrong Hope is just another name for selloum? Which is a Thaumatophyllum. Renamed to bipinnatifidum. Aroids are soooo confusing and lovely!
