Is it okay to leave outside during rain?

@NewSunsetaloe66 What a beautiful specimen!! No I wouldn't leave it outside during rain especially if you've watered it recently. Cactus are natively from desert regions where it doesn't rain much so we would want to mimic the plants natural outdoor conditions. Since they like to dry out completely before watering I wouldn't recommend putting it out in the rain although it would do well under a covered patio that gets sun. That way it would be protected from the elements. ☺️🌡
@princesspitstop Thank you for the tips!
@NewSunsetaloe66 My pleasure! Enjoy your new friend 😁
Mine lives outdoors, except for winter. I let mine enjoy a light rain but if it’s going to rain hard or long- I put the cover down over all my cacti (it’s something we put on the house to protect from rain and wind). They’re on plant carts so I can also move if it’s really bad weather (hail etc). Rain can be both good and bad. Good because rain is natural, and it helps wash out the salt and other chemical buildup, it can also deliver nutrients good for cacti environment. Bad if you don’t have good draining soil which leads to root rot, your cacti can actually split from too much water absorption , and then there’s always the chance for pests and disease. 😊 those are mine
