Hi @joyyoj Very pretty new babies! Find a good spot for them, away from drafts but with good light, and then leave them. They’ll be drama queens but they’ll come back. Careful with overwatering - I use self watering pots on my alocasias because I don’t wanna deal with it. lol Good luck with them! We’ll be here to help.
So my first question: have you ever grown Alocasias before? I don’t want to say anything you might already know. πŸ˜‚ Also, Nadia I feel like is good at explaining, so I’ll tag her in this as well. @DreamMachine and @Jho are another one who gives great advice. @Araceae is also extremely knowledgeable about Alocasias! Heidi is also great with plants. @princesspitstop
ooh yes @joyyoj please tag me with your experience in alocasias! And what a sweet compliment @Idplantthat πŸ₯°πŸ₯° I think I have solid basics down, although I wouldn’t consider myself an expert by any means, and I’m happy to help!
this baby leaf is opening up
@Idplantthat omg thx for tagging me, @Jho has it roughly all down but ITS ANOTHER SINGAPOREAN πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬!!!!

Also can i ask @joyyoj where'd you buy the cuprea?
Oh yeh and i forgot one more thing, longiloba can actually be found in the wild here, like if you go forested areas, sometimes you see it pop up here and there. The walkway to bird paradise, on the right as you're walking to the park, there's like one or two popping up amongst the torch ginger. So i don't think you'll have an issue with it
@Araceae, that’s so cool! They can grow on their own where you live! Next time you are out and about, if you remember, get a photo, please. πŸ™πŸ«ΆπŸ» I’d LOVE πŸ’• to see them.
@Idplantthat it’s my first plant ever!
@Araceae i got it from a fb group called onlysin plant market! it was $35 i reallly hope i dont kill it 🀣
@joyyoj oooh looks like a nice group. Havent dared to try such platforms yet, maybe sometime in the near future. While i'm waiting for the conventions lol
@Idplantthat i have an old photo from jan, abit difficult to pick up but if you look closely there's a marvellous specimen in the center. I find it interesting that longiloba can differ in appearance from place to place, the ones here look quite similar to a zebrina. The Alocasias here also love to pop out of all kinds of shrubs, this one was partially covered by ferns and selaginella
