How dry are you letting her soil get? They like their soil to stay a little moist. Also as they originate from humid areas they need high humidity in the air to not get crispy edges. So it is normal to see some browning during winter when we turn up the heat and the air dries out. Keep away from any heaters, ac, vents or drafts.
Preferably water with rainwater (or destilled), as they might react to minerals or chemicals in your tap-water.

Hi Deb!
Try to bottom water always, if you aren't already. And, do not use tap water!
Hope this helps...

She gets watered about every 12 days on Greg's schedule. I had her in my sunroof which has windows on 3 sides n, e, s facing. She was in corner opposite all windows. Room is 12 ft square. I moved her into my living room which has less light, thinking she might be getting too much light where she is.
@GracedStrapwort probably wise to move her. They burn easily in the sun. And new leaves will grow in very pale with too much light. Also temperature changes might affect her.
You should check with your finger to see how dry the soil is before watering, and not necessarily trust Greg always. But she will obviously let you know if it is too long between waterings by her leaves going limp and curly.

The bane of my existence, the calathea. That said I have had remarkable success this year by giving it only distilled water. I read about it online, so gave it a try. Every year in the past, they are near death then they revive in the summer, but mine are doing really really well this year. Thatâs the only change in their environment.
@MockingJay I just posted this too. Iâm doing nothing different but giving it distilled water and itâs so much happier this year.
@GracedStrapwort To prevent the leaf edges of a Rattlesnake plant (Calathea) from turning brown and crispy, ensure consistent moisture by keeping the soil slightly damp, regularly misting the leaves to increase humidity, and avoid exposing it to direct drafts or sudden temperature changes; brown edges are usually a sign of low humidity around the plant. Watering:
Check the soil regularly and water when the top inch or two feels dry, but avoid overwatering which can lead to root rot.
Humidity:
Misting the leaves frequently or placing the plant on a pebble tray with water can significantly boost humidity levels.
Light:
Rattlesnake plants prefer bright, indirect light; direct sunlight can burn the leaves.
Temperature:
Avoid sudden temperature fluctuations and keep the plant in a warm environment. You can also do the following. Trim affected areas: Carefully cut off the brown, crispy leaf edges with sharp scissors.
Increase humidity: Start misting the plant more often or add a humidifier nearby.
Check watering schedule: Ensure you are watering consistently and not letting the soil dry out completely. Happy Growing!
