What side should I put the moss pole

Howdy everyone! This is my monstera plant and it just started growing aerial roots! When i looked online it said to put the moss pole on the side where the roots come out. I put the moss where I think it should go based off of what Google said but the leaves are facing towards the wall because i rotated it to what i think is the correct side. I am assuming that with the change the leaves will flip to the other side (the correct side?) Anyway I would accept any and all advice haha

@Anaochoaaa yes that looks right, and can I say that is the most adorable moss pole I’ve ever seen 😅🥹🥰

And regarding the leaves facing the wall. Monsteras are plants with a front side and a back side, and shouldn’t be “rotated for even growth,” as, in their natural habitat , they find a tree to climb up with their aerial roots while their leaves all face out the same direction into the light.

If you only have natural light for your monstera (not a grow light) you should resign yourself to only ever seeing their backsides. 😅 They will only be happy with leaves facing the window, like they’re peering out looking for the mail carrier all day.

Of course, you can turn them for a picture, or for a party, or guests coming over. And if you see pictures where the monstera is facing the room, they were absolutely turned around for the photo, unless there’s a strong grow light 😄

On one of mine when he was little I had a grow light on his leaves, but a window at his back, so of course he turned a leaf to face the window, doh! 🤦‍♀️

Mine has turned his leaf back allllmost the other way, but at least now I know all future leaves will be facing out.

Omg thank you so much!!! Your plant is beautiful I can’t wait for mine to grow big like yours! I appreciate your response so much it is very reassuring and as far as the Moss pole, I made it myself 😆 @DreamMachine
@Anaochoaaa my pleasure! Feel free to tag me in any other questions you may have, although, just so you know I’m mostly a tropical/humid bog-witch type of plant lady 😁 I love talking plants though!

Here’s a current pic of my lil Thai con, he was hiding under big sis Deliciosa. (He’s the one that had the backwards leaf) I’m pointing to it now in pic 1️⃣, it has moved up about 60° from that original backwards position!

Oh, one more thing that will be more important as they grow and get bigger is, if you need to velcro/tie your plant gently to their pole for support, only attach the main stem to the pole, and not the petioles, which could be described as an ‘indivual leaf stem’ if that makes sense?

2️⃣nd pic, what I marked in purple is my main stem, and the red marks show the petioles growing off from the stem. Only tie the main stem. ☺️
Oh my brain. Here are those other pictures 🫠
