Hi community πŸ‘‹
Are these signs of root rot? Should I just try to propagate?

Oh yup, that looks like it.. (at least to me) I grow a lot of herbs indoors. My advice if it keeps getting worse cut back the plants and trim up all the damaged areas let it dry out in a sunny’ish well draining environment, mints can be funny. But the great news they are pretty tolerant and forgiving. If you cut it back the plant will focus on healing itself, and once it’s ready it will grow new stocks.
The only way to know for sure is to check the roots. If they are smelly and squishy you’ve got root rot and it’s time for intervention. πŸ₯°
@HunkyStrapwort honestly my mint did the same thing !! It friggin just like shriveled up like this pattern and died. Thankfully it flowered and spread everywhere. Mint is a new weed of mine πŸ˜‚βœ¨ best of luck! I hope we find a solution 🌱
Thank you all for your kind answers!
I'll trim up and see if it makes progress πŸ˜Άβ€πŸŒ«οΈ
Soooo I think it really perished.
I think the problem was the pot since the earth level didn't reach the top and humidity did its thing with root rot ☠️
I trimmed it to see if there was still green inside as a signal of life and there it is.
Now I potted the remains on a lil pot. Lets see what happens next 🧐
