New to CP; dormancy soon?

#PurplePitcherplant I just got a little purple pitcher plant today, and now I see they should be going dormant. I think I am one of the lucky people and will be able to just put it in the unheated back porch (in central Indiana). It’s a very sunny porch; will that be ok? Also, how will I know it’s time to go on the porch? It isn’t looking bad yet, but then I just brought it home from the plant store.
2ft to light, indirect

Hi Rachel! Congratulations on your new purple pitcher plant! While they do go dormant in the winter, it's not quite time yet. Your plant will start showing signs of dormancy, like slowing down growth and turning a darker color.
For now, keep it in a sunny spot and water it when the top inch of soil dries out. Once it starts to go dormant, you can move it to your unheated porch. Just make sure it's protected from freezing temperatures.
