Fungus Gnats
I’m purely annoyed at this point. I brought ONE plant home from Home Depot that apparently had gnats, and they’re EVERYWHERE. And my hubby likes to keep our apartment in negative temperatures (okay… a bit dramatic) during the summer so my plants are having a hard time drying out… but it’s way too hot outside to even keep them there for an hour. I need any tips I can get. I’ve been using mosquito bits, peroxide, cinnamon… idk what else to use. I re-potted a lot of my plants with new soil… and they’re back in those plants. I could cry.
Use Bonide systemic insecticide granules. I got mine from Amazon for $9. I had a fungus gnat problem in February this year and since applicaton haven’t had any since! This will take care of the larvae. Use sticky traps for the adults. I did this and no lie they are gone to this day! I reapplied in May because this stuff supposedly only protects the plant for 8 weeks at a time and I didn’t want to go through the same mess again.
I also haven’t had any other type of pests in my plants either besides an occasional soil mite here and there, which I treat with peroxide soaks. Bonide will protect from pests that feed on your plant, so it won’t harm anything else which is why I think the soil mites aren’t affected.

I avoid using MiracleGro, first off. Never buy MiracleGro soil, always infested with gnats!
You could use an insecticidal soap like Natria (they also have Natria Neem Oil online or in stores) or Neem oil to prevent gnats from harming your other plants such as the ones shown or I have some home remedies that help me:
•3 Tsp of White Vinegar, 2 pumps of any dish soap (I use Dawn) and water in a small dish. I place about two small dishes with that mix between my plants and that attracts gnats. Some people also add a teaspoon of sugar to attract the gnats more.
•Mix 1 cup (240 mL) of water, 1 tablespoon (15 mL) of vinegar, and 1⁄4 teaspoon (1.2 mL) of dish soap in a clean spray bottle. Whenever you see gnats flying around, spray them with this mixture. This is a great non-toxic way to deal with gnats.
•Quick water and rubbing alcohol (no more than 70%) mix. I usually eyeball by using more water than alcohol, and spray lightly on plants. Won’t harm your leaves, but will kill any gnats on sight.
•Sticky Traps placed in/around your pots. These are an example : Sticky Traps Plant Trap for Fungus Gnat, Fruit Fly Traps for Mosquito and Bug Indoor & Outdoor, Pest Insect Catcher Killer 12 Pack https://a.co/d/6UUQt2t
These are what I use and work for me! Good luck! 🌿✨

@babyfiretiger13 Thank you! I have a ton of those sticky traps already, but I’ll use that Bonide solution… I truly appreciate your help!
@JustCallMeDoll you’re welcome! They are granules, so you measure the amount you need based on your pot size, sprinkle and water as usual!
