What type of caterpillar is this?

monarch caterpillar. They eat milkweed. They're endangered so I'm pretty sure it's illegal to kill them, but they feed exclusively on milkweed and make the longest flight of any butterfly. It will be a very beautiful adult and the adults are actually poisonous (but only if you try to eat them, so don't eat one!)
@SesameSeeds777 I was hoping it was a monarch because there are very few milkweed plants in my area. I wanted to give them a chance.
It is a monarch butterfly since there's just one it should do too much damage in a week or so you can see it turn into a chrysalis
