If they’re small dark and fly around they’re probably fungus gnats. Harmless most of the time, but annoying. I use sticky traps. They’re effective and last a long time.
@Wisepetal3 the gnats want moist environments to feed on decaying material and lay their eggs. Some ways to minimize this is by bottom watering, although they can make their way down to the damp saucer and live in the drainage holes πŸ•³οΈ πŸ•³οΈ. So dump out excess water in saucers or bowls. Putting a thin layer of sand on top of the soil can help prevent them from laying eggs- it’s too dry. Good luck!
I use a mix of 1/4 hydrogen peroxide (3%) and 1 cup of water. But I keep doing it until I have enough to fully water the plant and then I let them drain out from the bottom and just let em be. It kills them immediately and oxygenates the roots. It’s safe for the plants and kills the gnats :) it completely solved my gnat problem until I bought a new plant and she brought some with her so now I have to do it again. I also put some of those gnats sticky traps until they fully dry out and I get to treat them :)
