Unwanted Friends

I picked up this slightly struggling bb from a local dealer this week, and noticed that she came with some small, black insects in her soil. I’ve since repotted her since she was essentially climbing out of her pot, but the bugs tagged along. She’s experiencing a little transplant shock at the moment so I’m not keen to re-pot again. I’ve placed her near my carniverous plant - is there anything else I can do to discourage the bugs? #NewPlantMom bugs">#bugs #HelpMePlease #PestControl

Neem oil maybe
Neem oil or diatomaceous earth might be options. I'm not sure what sort of insects you have but those two deter most varieties.
A peroxide flush might help. There are people on here more experienced with that than me. I believe it's 1 part peroxide to 3 parts water. I know when one of my plants had fungus gnats eating the crap out of the roots, I just squeezed a bunch of straight peroxide in the soil out of panic and bring creeped out. I mean it worked πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ but I don't want to steer you wrong.
@ManyLime Woah that sounds intense!
Lol it's not too much. The peroxide kills the bugs but not the plant and roots.
Then I use mosquito bites to hopefully prevent any more buggies.
hydrogen peroxide is your best friend. it’s much less harsh than it seems. dilute it if you want, but a few squirts straight from the source won’t cause damage. just don’t do it too often. i had some major bug and mold problems that it pretty much instantly solved. cinnamon is also good - i’m pretty sure it’s mostly anti fungal/mold, but the bugs in my old dirt hated it as well.
@ManyLime So interesting! I’ve honestly never heard of this peroxide method before. Will definitely keep it in mind!!
