How do I prune this shrub?

If it is flowering you want to use the mantra "prune after bloom."
-deadhead all flowers right after they bloom
-thin out branches that didn't flower
Prune the rest right before the next growing season:
-remove any dead or damaged branches
-prune branches that are dense, or creating and unappealing shape
-use a hedge trimmer to do any additional shaping
Just be sure not to prune more than 1/3 of your plant in a year as it will only flower on 1 year old (or older) growth.
