Edges of Peace Lily leaves look "burnt"

Hi. My peace lily is blooming like crazy this season. She's got at least 8 beautiful white spathes. But I notice that since she started flowering, the edges of some of her older leaves are getting yellow/brown patches that do not look healthy at all. About 5 leaves (not next to each other) are affected. What am I doing wrong? Fertiliser burn?

Hello Lynn! I’m only a couple months into my plant journey- but from what I’ve learned, I would like to share this thought.

Your plant looks beautiful and healthy! I wouldn’t think this is a symptom of fertilizer burn, rather- your beautiful plant is blooming. 8+ blooms at the same time means the plant is directing its energy to the bloom, and a lot of the time older leaves will slightly decline due to that energy shift.

I believe that’s all it is! Of course there are other possibilities like mineral buildup if you’re using tap water or sun exposure.

You have an amazing plant! I think it will continue to grow beautifully:)

Yup! I agree!
How often do you water it and how much sunlight does it get?

You should usually water plants in the morning or at night. I prefer morning so all of that extra water gets soaked up by the sun and heat because it prevents rotting and other stuff to the plant.
@izzyandsugar and @Drebsky thanks for the reassurance! To answer your question, Isabella, I water my peace lilies (I have 3 others that were cultivated from this one) less frequently than Greg recommends (I usually snooze once) as they don't go through the water as quickly as the app suggests. I always water in the mornings. I also only use distilled water as the water her is extremely hard and even filtered water seemed "not good enough" for my plants, especially the notoriously fussy peace lilies. As to light, I find my peace lilies prefer to be a bit away from the windows. I have a LOT of natural light in my flat, and I save the windowsills for plants that are more light-hungry. I am happy to know this seems to be a natural response to the blooming. She hasn't bloomed at all in 2 years, and this time she's blooming way more than she did 2 years ago.
