I think he might be reaching for the sun so maybe move him close to the window or even outside in the summer! Also some of the leaf loss could be from overwatering. A good test for this is to touch a leaf and if it feels like it’s going to snap off then it has a lot of water and you could back off from the watering for a little bit!
