Chamomile completely drooping…

I got this chamomile plant a few days ago and it perked up right after I got it. However the day right after it perked up, it became a flat mess. I make sure to only water when the dirt is completely dry and I have it facing an East window. What should I do ;;; #Chamomile #NewPlantMom
@RealHawthorn67 Welcome to the Greg community! To make a chamomile plant thrive, provide it with ample sunlight, well-draining soil, and moderate watering, especially during hot or dry periods. Chamomile is a relatively low-maintenance plant that prefers full sun to partial shade and does not require heavy fertilization. Here's a more detailed guide:
1. Location:
Full Sun: Chamomile thrives in full sun, with at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily.
Partial Shade: In hot, southern climates, some afternoon shade can help prevent the blooms from wilting.
Well-Draining Soil: Chamomile prefers well-draining soil, which helps prevent root rot.
2. Watering:
Young Plants:
Water young chamomile plants regularly, especially during dry spells, to help them establish a strong root system.
Established Plants:
Established chamomile plants are drought-tolerant and do not need frequent watering. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings.
Hot Weather:
In extremely hot weather, you may need to water chamomile a bit more frequently to prevent it from drying out. 3. Fertilizing:
No Fertilizer Needed: Chamomile is a low-maintenance plant and does not require fertilization.
Soil Amendment: If your soil is poor, you can amend it with organic matter, such as compost, to improve drainage and provide essential nutrients.
4. Other Tips:
Pruning:
You can lightly prune chamomile plants to encourage bushier growth and remove any leggy or dead stems.
Pest Control:
Chamomile is generally pest-free, but you may occasionally encounter aphids. You can control them with organic methods, such as using insecticidal soap.
Harvesting:
Chamomile blooms are ready for harvesting when they are fully open and fragrant. You can harvest the flowers by gently pulling them from the stem.
You could follow these tips, and you can help your chamomile plant thrive and provide you with a beautiful and fragrant addition to your garden. Hope this helps, Happy Growing!!
