Who is using clear nursery planters, regardless of size/p...

I’ve started to move some of my plants to clear “nursery pots”. Eventually I’ll move them to a fancy planter, but I feel so much better being able to see the roots and moisture until I really get to know the plant and feel comfortable with its needs/behavior. Thoughts? I’d love to hear what everyone else does/thinks. My one apprehension is that I use terracotta for a reason - I suck at watering.
I use terracotta or nursery pots with cover pots. I was given some clear pots this summer and I LOVE them. 10/10. So now it's terracotta or clear pots inside a cover pot, sometimes no cover pot if I get all excited to see the roots 😂
@PlantMompy Love that - think I’ll start doing the same. I just feel so much better when I can see the roots 🙋🏻‍♂️
I absolutely love clear pots. Worth it for roots. Just if you don’t cover them they’ll grow algae.
@Alinaa Wait, what? I did not know this. Please tell me more!
Im going to buy some of these for my plants in leca! I’ll just add some extra holes. And yes like Alina said, if it’s exposed to light for too long it will grow algae so always keep it in a cache pot. The nutrients and exposer to light causes algae growth
@Leafylife & @Alinaa thank you both so much for educating me on the algae! Listening to a podcast about it, now 🤓 Y’all are great and love how much I learn from being on here with everyone.
Link to the podcast-thingy, in case anyone else is like me and had zero clue about this: https://www.janeperrone.com/on-the-ledge/transparent-plant-pots#:~:text=It%20does%20happen.,to%20being%20hit%20by%20sunlight.
I am using clear for propagating, but not exactly pots. 😀
@Bunny413 I’m going to look past the fact that it should be bourbon in those… because holy sh*t are those absolutely stunning ♥️ Forgive my ignorance - what are those?
@GaryPoopins Tradescantia Nanouk, Fantasy Venice. They can get a little crazy, so I gave my baby a haircut and a new pot this weekend, and decided to play with propagating her ends. It's a good thing I did because her roots were crazy. Photos of roots and repotting attached.
Honestly the algae doesn’t seem like that big of a deal, I know some people will flush hydrogen peroxide to cut it down. The plants with algae tend to attract more springtails from what I’ve seen. It’s just kind of yucky looking but I’m too lazy to cache pot everything. There’s also some algae reducing type products people will try to use, but results see meh? Like physan specially added for algae management.
I switched all my plants to clear pots and keep them in them for a cohesive look. It's been great for watering, so I can see how quickly or slowly water is draining and it has been fun seeing root progress. Check Amazon and Temu for some less expensive clear pots as these add up quickly when buying elsewhere.

@AwesomePlants You aren’t kidding - I bought 4 sets of 6 in different sizes and it ran me $100. I suppose $4 a pot isn’t ridiculous, but it isn’t a steal, either ✅
@GaryPoopins some nurseries are catching on to clear pots and selling them. I'd check with local nurseries especially for larger sizes. I've been having a hard time to find the 10" pots
@AwesomePlants they have them on the website I ordered from: 10” for $10 a pop - feels steep, but what do I know 🤷🏻‍♂️ https://www.repotme.com/collections/slotted-pots-by-repotme/products/crystal-clear-slotted-violet-pot?variant=40269210222673
