To separate your Bush Lilys you need to remove the whole plant from the pot.

Don't try to separate them in the pot. Sometimes it helps to get a table knife and work it around the edges of the pot to work it loose. Sometimes I will also find whatever I have in hand to push it up through the drainage hole because with her size it's likely to have roots coming out of the bottom. This can help loosen it to get it out.

When you separate you want to try to leave each individual lily with a generous amount of roots.

I recommend massaging the soil away from the roots with your fingers so you can see the root system to examine it and determine what you're working with.

Then try to separate her in four equal parts. Sometimes they separate easily at the roots. Other times they are tangled up. If tangled gently rake your fingers downward through the roots from the bottom up. Sort of like brushing out knotted hair.

After untangled you should be able to take them and hold along each end of the plant and wiggle them apart.
@SuperbRaspfern thank-you for your thorough instructions. I shall leave them until the spring and liberate them then. I can hardly wait.
@PluckyGinger2 Your very welcome 🩷
