What is going on? This is a picture of some of it's leave...

Blueberry leaf rust (fungus). Don’t get the leaves wet (only water the dirt). Cut off the WORST leaves (or ideally any leaves with spots, but if most of the plant is affected just do like half of the worst ones), seal them in a bag and throw in the trash, do the same thing with any leaves that fall off (and in the fall when all the leaves fall off). If it’s just that small branch and hasn’t spread to the rest of the plant, do not hesitate to chop it off and discard in a sealable bag, wash your hands, and manually remove any other leaves with spot.

You do need some sort of fungicide, but you need to be super careful because most out there should NOT be sprayed on plants intended for consumption (even if you wash it off, it’s absorbed into the plant and the dirt and it is hazardous… so be mindful that whatever you is safe to use on fruit plants for eating.)

My calamansi came with a bad case of citrus rust on almost all of its leaves. I removed the half that were the worst, and treated the rest with Mighty Mint Plant Protection (light spray from afar above and below the leaves) once a week but taking care not to spray it on very newly budding leaves. Every time I saw a batch of fresh leaves growing in, I trimmed off a batch of the most diseased looking ones or diseased ones closest to the new growth and quarantined/discarded them (tried not to touch the fungus spots and washed my hands after to try to prevent spread). I got rid of the citrus rust in a month or two. I don’t believe the spray I use is the whole reason for eradicating the rust (if it were that easy, it wouldn’t be such a common crop plague), but I do think it made the leaves less hospitable for the rust and helped give new leaves a chance to grow in healthfully so the plant could recover more quickly than if I had balded it outright and not left it with much to photosynthesize with. I had the benefit of treating an indoor plant though, so I also didn’t have the wind blowing spores all over the place.

Good luck.
Thank you.
