How can I get mt Fig Leaf plant's stalk thicker? It can't remain upright without a stake.

Mine has that too and nothing seems to come of it. I’m assuming it is debris from the center that spreads out as the leaves grow?

Looks like you may have spider mites. I would inspect the under sides of the leaves and near the base with a magnifier for webbing.
