What’s going on?

Any idea why she’s turning brown all the sudden?
3ft to light, indirect
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
Sure thing! Your plant's leaves are turning brown likely due to overwatering, low humidity, or too much direct sunlight. Check these factors and adjust as needed. 🌿
@USAGardenHub could possibly be low humidity but it was absolutely thriving before. I water when the soil is slightly moist and it doesn’t get any direct sunlight (if it does at all it’s probably 30 minutes) πŸ˜•
Hi @Cjpeters26 did you check for pests or maybe fungus? The second pic, near the crown and that leaf definitely look suspish. If you have 70% rubbing alcohol you can try putting some on a q tip to see if it’ll come off. If it does, that’s a better indicator of pests.
@Momof83ans Hi Kelli- thanks so much! Just put rubbing alcohol on a q tip and rubbed but only a bit of soil came off, nothing else so I don’t think it’s pests
@Cjpeters26 darn! here’s info on home made fungicide, you might want to start here. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/info/homemade-fungicide.htm you may need to unpot it and check the roots. I’d read the article and prepare yourself first so you don’t get overwhelmed. πŸ’š you got this!
@Momof83ans the roots are definitely sticking out of the bottom a little! It’s winter though so I was a bit weary on re-potting. Do you think it is fungus?! πŸ˜•
@Cjpeters26 the thing that makes me think it could be fungal are the round dark spots on the top leaf in your first pic, and the stuff along the stuff along the spine of the leaf in the second pic. Repotting in fall makes me nervous too. You can remove the two old leaves in the first pic and keep an eye on it. If it spreads you’ll need to check the roots etc.
