Is this a giant schefflera?! He needs some pruning.
This #Schefflera (?) tree was left in my house by the previous owners (huge score!!). Greg identifies it as a schefflera, but I’ve never seen one this giant. It’s about 9’ tall and pretty leggy. It needed more room for its roots, so I moved it into a slightly bigger pot about 6 months ago. It has started getting new growth up top since then (the small branches almost touching the ceiling are all new). I want to prune him this spring but am unsure what the best approach is. Any recommendations?

@RJG it really was!!! Any tips on pruning to make him fuller, and to encourage more outward (rather than upward) growth? He’s starting to hit the ceiling!
