How do I measure the diameter of my pots?

Can anyone help me measure the diameter of my pots, how do you do it?

I just measure the widest point where the soil goes to. So that’s usually at the top, but could be in the middle depending on the shape.

I take a ruler across the middle of the top of the pot.

Across the top. I used a tape measure. Place the end of the ruler or tape measure on the edge of the pot move it along the opposite edge of pot. The largest number will be the diameter

Unless you have a soft tape measure (like the one in a sewing kit), you just need to eyeball it since a hard ruler isn’t going to fit in the pot.

The number is in app isn’t used for much, maybe a rough estimate when you should water it, but even when I’ve repotted things into a new size pot and updated it it hasn’t adjusted the water schedule based on that. So I wouldn’t be concerned if you don’t have it quite exact.
