Is that the pot it came in? Does it have drainage holes on the bottom? They don't like sitting in soggy soil but they also don't like for it to completely dry out. Glazed clay pots are non-porous, so they don't allow soil to dry out as quickly, which can lead to root rot.
@stephonicle it did not come in a pot, this is the only one that I had handy at the time! It does have a drainage hole in it… the soil is just normal potting soil and orchid bark, so I may try a mix that allows for more drainage. Thank you for your comment!!
Brown spots on new leaves of a Philodendron Tortum can indicate several issues, such as overwatering, underwatering, or environmental stress. Since you’ve only watered the plant once and it’s near a humidifier, overwatering seems unlikely. However, brown spots can also be a sign of sunburn if the plant is exposed to too much direct sunlight. Make sure the sunlight it receives is filtered or indirect. Another possibility is nutrient deficiency or root stress due to the plant adjusting to its new environment. Keep an eye on the watering routine, ensuring the soil is slightly moist but not soggy, and consider moving it slightly further from direct light. If the spots worsen or spread, check for pests or fungal issues as a precaution.
@Gustavo thank you!!
