Rotting...

I've seen other people cut rot off their cacti without many issues - but is this too far gone? One of the rot spots is actually callused over, so I didn't think anything of it when I repotted into 50/50 perlite and cacti/succulent mix, but then I recently saw the fresh rot. Where should I cut this? Banana for scale, obvs ๐Ÿ˜†

Its probably gone depends on how much it has spread up and in.
You may get away with orange line if its good the blue one if not. Once its cut let the cut dry out and calus over for at least a couple of weeks minimum. Before even going near soil. I had one on the side for a month to dry up and is still going.

Here. Check the colour, if all light green then ok, if some yellow then nope.

If the cactus is hollow, then it's too late.
Did you cut it? How does it look like ? Can you post a picture, please ?
