To Chop or not to chop

Is it too late to chop this flower stalk on my Venus flytrap? ๏ฟผ #help #VenusFlyTrap
2โ€ pot with drainage
Last watered 2 weeks ago
You can just let it bloom and try using a brush to pollinate it. It's stressing on the mother plant but it can still survive. I got a few seeds (3) from mine that did germinate. The mother plant recovered afterwards.
@PetPlants just like any little brush ?
Either a fine hair paint brush or even a Q-tip. Just move the pollen frome the stamen over the pistil.
@PetPlants hmmmmm Iโ€™m definitely tempted but I dunno if I got what it takes to grow from seed ๐Ÿซฃ
If you want try it. To me the teeny tiny venus flytrap traps were so worth it. As long as they get enough light and moist but not water logged soil they'll be fine. If you see any fungus a sprinkling of cinnamon helps.
Just wanted to chip in a bit regarding the seeds: Theyre totally worth it! Last year the majority of my venus fly traps bloomed so I pollinated them all. Ive now got like 6 pots *full* of teeny tiny flytraps & theyre starting to appear in my other carnivores pots now too ๐Ÿ˜… Their seeds dont require cold stratification, so when you get the seeds you can just put them in a pot (same soil as your adult vft), give them the same conditions as your adult vft, and they should sprout!
They are so cute!
