plants tend to do alright with the tie as long as you continue to adjust it as they grow bigger (so it's not too tight). However, if you want to take off, it will also be healthy, but the design may not stay as it continues to grow bigger.
I agree with Sesame, it will be fine if you leave it as long as you adjust it, but I took mine like yours apart and now it grows free
