Sad plant help

This is the very sad bit of what is left of a Doc Block Michelle from Home Depot that I got in May. (No, I didn't pay anywhere near full price for it.) It wasn't in great shape when I got it, but it had one healthy leaf and was getting another.

I thought it was a goner, so I haven't messed with it for the last couple weeks. It wasn't drying out and was in too big of a pot after most of the leaves died off. Today I checked the roots before I tossed it and surprisingly there were more than I thought, they don't smell, and at least 50% of them seem healthy.

Please tell me if this is a good plan:
-trim flat lifeless roots
-soak in peroxide/water mix
-repot in a 2-3" pot

Should I try potting in clay balls or should I plant in a chunky mix?

I realize it's chances of survival are slim, but it is so pretty when it is alive that I can't give up on it yet. #sadplant #help #notdeadyet #birthdayplant #plantsmakepeoplehappy #greggershelpinggreggers
2ft to light, indirect
5” pot with drainage

Upon further cutting...it's dead. Shocking, I know.
@ForestDweller noooo I’m sorry 😒 For what it’s worth I think you had the right ideas if it hadn’t been already on the 🌈 πŸͺ΄ bridge πŸ’•
It had couple inches of ok roots close to the stem. I potted it, but I'm pretty confident it's completely gone.
