Looks like it’s dying. Should I plant in a pot? I don’t o...

@ChiefJade19 oh sweetie, how often do you water? It looks really thirsty. I think there’s a big problem out there right now that so many people are told overwatering is a huge problem (I don’t believe it) and so they’re all scared of overwatering, that it’s leading to people underwatering instead.

There’s still some green on that Hoya so what I would do is give it a big soak. Like put the whole pot in a big bowl or cup that can fit it, and fill with water and let it soak for 15-30 minutes. Take it out, let it drain, and then check on it again this week. What you’re going to have to do now is keep it gently moist but not soggy, while it grows back it’s small root hairs.
Looks like it definitely needs some water! I totally second the soak idea
@ChiefJade19 oh! And one more thing. That looks like a beautifully good chunky mix 🫢🏼 In the future, you will probably want to water plants in this mix a little more often because it looks like it doesn’t retain much moisture. I actually started my hoyas out in a mix just like this! But I have since started to put them in a mix with just a bit more coco coir or tree fern fiber just so I can tell when my pot is dry. Because a pot like this will pretty much weigh the same after you water as before and it’s so hard to tell when to water. If you want to do the same, I started making my mix with 1/3 of it coco coir or tree fern fiber. I water the day I see/feel it dry out 90-100%. Good luck and you can always ask me anything if you want! 🌿✨
@ChiefJade19 mine is doing the same thing; so I got a cutting out and propagating.
Judging by where your finger is, and this picture, it definitely needs another pot, a bigger pot and some water
@DreamMachine the water runs right through it
@DreamMachine she is soaking now! Thanks
@ChiefJade19 great! Keep me posted 😁 @HighAlfalfa54 pot size is dependent on root ball size. You only want a pot that is slightly bigger than the root ball. If there is too much medium compared to roots, it will take the roots a long time to drink all that water. Hoyas notoriously do not like being repotted and can stay in the same pot for years and years as long as you are fertilizing appropriately. 🌿
Id just put it in water and in the sunniest area you can find
@ChiefJade19 was this in a cup or pot? I can't remember. If in a cup, you can put in a 2" pot, though at this point, you may need to just treat it like a prop and prop in perlite. Do you have any grow lights? I think it's not getting enough light so the soil isn't drying out before you water again so the soil is continually staying wet and causing root rot. Hoyas like to dry out before watering again.
@ChiefJade19 how is the hoya from Gardino doing?
